TIM BATES

Tim Bates worked as a claims adjuster for a major insurance company until he accepted an academic scholarship to attend the Southern Methodist University School of Law. After graduating law school near the top of his class, Tim worked for the largest defense firm in Dallas, Texas. Tim's first legal duties included defending litigation claims for large clients such as Ford Motor Company, Cigna Health Plan, Kodak, Travelers Insurance Companies, Eastman Chemical Company, and others.

In late 1989, Tim realized that injured people and their families needed better representation so he left the large defense firm and started representing injured people and their families. In 1994, after winning several trials, Tim Bates became Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Texas Monthly Magazine named Tim Bates as a Texas Super Lawyer for 2004, 2005 and 2006 when Tim represented over 2000 mass tort clients against Wyeth Pharmaceuticals.

Tim Bates was born in a Federal Housing project with little chance for a quality education and success in this world. Because of this background, Tim rejected a lawyer's life of representing the rich and dedicated his law career to representing and fighting for real people with real injuries. Most of these fights are against major corporations on a contingency fee with Tim advancing the expenses.
